WATCH: American Crossroads Attacks Ashley Judd In New Ad

Actress/activist Ashley Judd may not have declared her candidacy for Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race in 2014, but that isn’t stopping Karl Rove from attacking her.

American Crossroads, the Rove-led Super PAC, has released an ad slamming Judd, who is reportedly considering a run against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

“Ashley Judd: an Obama-following, radical, Hollywood liberal who’s right at home here in Tennessee…I mean, Kentucky,” the ad sarcastically says, complete with a hokey record-scratch.

According to MSNBC, the ad will air in Kentucky for two weeks.

That American Crossroads sees it necessary to attack Judd before she even announces whether she’s running should hearten the famed actress. The ad suggests that Republicans see Judd as a serious threat to McConnell, who a December Public Policy Polling poll found to be America’s least popular senator.

Furthermore, if the 2012 elections hold any predictive value, Judd should be ecstatic. After all, American Crossroads and its dark-money sister group Crossroads GPS spent a combined $175,420,435 on 33 general election campaigns, and failed to support a single winning candidate.

UPDATE: Judd’s publicist has responded to the ad in an email to The Washington Post: “Ashley thanks Senator McConnell, Karl Rove, and their negative allies for all the attention as she considers her future political plans, although a decision hasn’t been made yet.”
